CANTERBURV TOUR. WHY AUCKLAND WAS MISSED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this (lay. Canterbury Rugby Union resolved yesterday evening, in view of the rumour that Canterbury had refused to extend its northern tour to Auckland because Auckland owed Canterbury £50. to write to the Auckland Union pointing out that no financial arrangement had to do with the cutting out of Auckland, which was entirely due to Canterbury's big programme o£ representative matches at home.
BAY OF PLENTY REFEREES
The annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Keferecs' Association was held at Matata, -when delegates -were present from Taurnnga, Taneatua, Wliakatanc, Opotiki and Rangitaikl. Officers elected:—Patron, Mr F. J. Burt (Rangitaiki) ; president, Sir. W. Burrett (OpotiM) ; senior vice-president, Mr. H. S. Rigger (Tauranga) ; secretary and treasurer, Mr. Simmonds (Opotiki) ; executive, the president, the secretary, and Mr C. Insane (Whakatane) ; delegate to Bay of Plenty Rugby Union,. Mr. G. Peebles.
COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES. Players selected to represent Waipa in its first Rugby representative match of the season, against Otorohanga, on Saturday at To Awamutu: —Full-back, G.
