FIRE BOARD MEMBER.
MR, W. D. FULTON'S POSITION. The appointment of Mr. W. D. Fulton as the district's representative on the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board was confirmed at last night's meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council. The Mayor, Mr. W. F. Stilwell, explained that when Mr. Fulton was a member of the council, ho had been nominated as the council's candidate for the Fire Board, and had been elected aa one of the two members representing suburban bodies. At last municipal election, however, he had lost his seat on the council. Mr. Stilwell proposed that Mr. Fulton should complete his term.
Mr. F. E. Martin said that if, as had been stated, Mr. Fulton's was a representative of all the suburban local bodiee, it seemed unnecessary for the Mount Albert Council to confirm the appointment. My, V. A. Coyle said, that unless Mr. Fulton's appointment was confirmed thero might be another election, and the representative of another borough might be returned to the board. The Mavor's motion was carried.
