CLEAR INTENTION.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Treasury authorities arc unaware of any defect in the local authorities' interest reduction legislation. They say its clear intention was to deduct 10 per cent of the interest yield up till March 31 last, and thereafter the deduction to be 20 per cent.
