SOCCER REFEREES.
FORMER MEMBER'S COMPLAINT. "Knight of the Whistle" writes:— "Having read your report of the Auckland Football Association Control Board meeting asking clubs to try and get old players to take up the whistle, I wish to point out that some of the referees are out of work and have not the means to purchase boots, knickers and stockings, and pay the required fee for registration. I am one who is in the above predicament,, and would gladly do what is asked, only I might meet with, the. disapproval of the AJF.A. because my dress was not of the best though my capabilities may be good (seeing I am a New Zealand badge holder), as happened a few years ago. Therefore, the appointments committee of the Referees' Association might be told not to appoint me to Blandford Park at 3 p.m. on account of dress, not capabilities, for did not the Control Board do this two or three years ago? Trusting the A.F.A. gives better. treatmenfe^tp-new-felood th.an it did to me«i
