THE "DEVIL-DEVJL" ROPE TRICK. "Banishing devils" —that is the idea of the old Leueneua Island chieftain as lie solemnly passes a crudely-woven rope of palm leaves over the entire length of the visiting launch that has just anchored in his lagoon. He is keeping away "devil-devils" from his little atoll. The modern mother, however, knows that charms are of little avail against unseen dangers. Coughs and colds, for instance, have to be kept away from the family circle, and mother's method is to pin lier faith to Baxter's Lung Preserver. The way "Baxter's" keeps down colds is remarkable. "Baxter's" cuts the phlegm, forme a soothing, healing film over the inflamed throat and air passages, and promotes natural, easy breathing. However stubborn the cough, "Baxter's" will give sure relief. Be sure your home is safeguarded and remember "Baxter's" tonic properties increase resistance- against further attacks. All cheniiste and stores sell "Baxter's" in 1/G, 2/C and 4/6 sizes.— (Ad.)
