WESTERN SUBURBS BUSES.
OPPOSITION TO RESTRICTION. A resolution strongly objecting to the suggested restrictions of bus services and°fixation of bus stops on the Auck-land-Hcndereon-Glen Eden route wae unanimously passed at a meeting of the New Lynn borough Council last evening. Councillors said any restrictions of the present service would be a serious matter to the residents of the western suburbs, while the maintenance of convenient picking- up and putting off places wae essential to the welfare of the districts. There wae no doubt tlmt the advent of the buses had been instrumental in the rapid development and settlement in these suburbs, and any interference to the existing service would certainly retard future progress.
A suggestion to call all interested local bodies to a conference with a view to entering a etrong protcet was finally decided upon.
