The leader tired 111 the run to he judge, and Silver Bingen, finishing 511 strongly, went on to gain a comfortable victory by two lengths and a half from Raider, \yno neat Free Logan by two lengths. Homeward was fourth, followed by Realty and Our Peter. Placings Reversed. All started in the Whitford Handicap, for which Nell Volo started a warm favourite, with Bessie Farrish and Moko Girl also in demand. Explosion broke at the start, Billy Carbine leading out of the straight from Nell Volo, Moko Girl (breaking), Zanzibar, Dark McKinney, and Bessie Parrish. Dark McKinncy put in a fast run to lead past the stand, with Zanzibar, Nell Volo, and Bessie Parrish following. There was 110 change crossing the trip, and Dark McKinney led into straight from Bessie Parrish, Nell Volo, and Zanzibar. When being urged along into the straight Nell Volo broke and galloped for practically a furlong, Dark McKinney going 011 to win by a length from Nell Volo, with Bessie Parrish one and a half lengths away third. Zanzibar was fourth, and then came Etta Cole, Billy Carbine, and Moko Girl. At a subsequent inquiry into Nell Volo galloping the stewards reversed the placings, Bessie Parrish being placed second and Nell Volo third.

A Favourite At Last. Nellota, Red Hope, and Stormy Mack failed to keep their engagement in the May Handicap, for which May Chenault was installed favourite, Cimarron and Donee also coming in for good support. Tinokaha broke up at the start, Our Summer taking charge to lead out of the straight from Worthy Chief, May Chenault, Bonce, Tinokaha, and Peter I Grattan. When they reached the stand Free Gift had taken charge, with May Chenault, Worthy Chief, Our Summer, and Cimarron racing in close attendance. Cimarron had broken at the end of half a mile and hud. dropped back to last, but had made leeway very fast. May Chenault was first to turn for home from Our Summer, Cimarron, and Free Gift, and the leader held on to win by a neck from Our Summer, with Cimarron another neck away third. Donee was fourth, and then came Worthy Chief.

Kewpie's Triumph Again. There were only eight starters in the Papatoctoe Handicap, Pegaway being elected a firm first fancy, with Great Parrish and Kewpie's Triumph next, test backed. Pegaway was smartest to begin and led along the back from Prince Pedro, Kelp, Great Parrish, Brenthght and Kewpie's Triumph. The last-named moved fast and had taken charge passing the stand from Great Parrish, Kelp and Prince Pedro. Kewpie's Triumph was still the pilot into the straight with Prince Pedro, Brentlight and Kelp in a bunch just behind. The leader finished best in the run home, and went on to win by three-quarters of a length from Prince Pedro, with Brentlight four lengths away. Kelp was fourth, and then followed Direct Morning, Great Parrish and Pegaway.

The Concluding Event. There were nine defaulters in the concluding event, the Henderson Handicap, and when the machine had closed the favourites were Wee Machine, Prince Etawah, and the Guid Hairst bracket. Princo Etawah was in command when they settled down from Guid Hairst, Great Fame, Wee Machine, and Jackie Thorpe. Passing the stand Guid Hairst just led Prince Etawah, Great Fame, Mazda and Wee Machine, but going across the top Wee Machine sprinted and was in charge into the straight from Guid Hairst, Great Fame and Mazda. Although he finished well Guid Hairst could not overtake the leader, Wee Machine winning nicely by a length and a half, while Homeward was five lengths back third. Hohoro finished fourth, then following Jackie Thorpe and Prince Etawah.
