BOARD OF CONTROL

Nicholls, said that as the new ground at Taradale would not be ready for use until the summer, temporary arrangements had been made in order to carry through the first season's programme. It was decided to advise senior clubs that the first match on No. 1 ground at Carlaw Park must finish at 3.10 p.m. The Newton Club wrote approving the board's scheme for stabilising the insurance scheme for players. Devonport also agreed to pay 10/ weekly out of the gross percentage shares. Other matters in this connection were referred for report by the insurance committee. The New Zealand League reported the principal decisions arising out of discussions at the annual meeting. It was decided to make special suggestions on the question of provincial League representation in the council. The Auckland Referees' Association advised that the play-the-ball rule was not satisfactorily played on opening day, and asked for full co-operation in future games. Bennett (Manurewa) and E. F. Abbott to Richmond Rovers; F. T. Bluck (Newton) and S. R. Smith (Te Atatu) to Marist Old Boys. Two senior applications on behalf of Ponsonby were deferred as being inadequate in particulars supplied. Transfers approved and referred to the New Zealand Council were: —R. Goodwin (Richmond Rovers) to Celtic, Wellington; C. Keith and W. Daniels (Celtic, Whangarei) to Ponsonby United. The transfer of <T. H.
