SURGEON'S DEATH.

FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT. (Received 12.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Robert Hamilton Russell, aged 73, who was recognised throughout the world as a great figure in modern surgery, was fatally injured when the ear he was driving, crashed into a safety zone pillar. He had both his legs broken and sustained head injuries, from which he died in hospital.
