OPEN BOAT PICKED UP.
FOUND DRIFTING AT SEA
Found drifting about three miles off shore near Port Charles, on tr>, eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula, a 12ft flat bottomed boat was picked up and brought to Auckland yesterday by the motor vessel Margaret W. The boat, which has the number A.K.91 painted on it, contained oars and rowlocks, and also a piece of machinery, with a rope attached, which had apparently been used as an anchor. It is thought that the boat floated off the beach near Port Charles.
