, LAST WEEK OF REVUE. I ; BRIGHT AND COLOURFUL SHOW. i i Suggested as an appropriate greeting for i the good times round the corner, th>i ; vaudeville-revue cocktail, "Hello, Pros- , perity," with which Frank Neil's revue . stars opened their final week's programme iu His Majesty's Theatre, provided a ' large audience with a good time on Satur- ' day night. George Wallace exploited nis 1 characteristic drolleries in half a dozen - lightning sketches, with the assistance o£ i Maurice Barling, Billy Maloney and Maida I Jones, each of whom added a further item i or two in conjunction with the ballet. | Miriam Lester and Dave McGill made a r hit with the Miserere duet from "II Trovatore"; Murray and Walton increased ' their popularity with new steps _in tap, ' twin and eccentric dancing, of which they !■ are acknowledged masters; and Jack • Spooner's jazz band provided syncopated i tunefulness as a first-part finale. Followed a colourful comedy revue, featuring Wal- • lace, Maloney and Barling in the comedy ' parts, David McGill in the song "Lolita, Miriam Lester in a solo "Amarilla," and ' the ballet in a series of effective appear- : ances, most striking of which was _ a • Spanish shawl dance. ', The youthful Cleveres presented an ex- ' cellent acrobatic act of head and hand ' balancing with a dash of contortion. The ' Big Four quartet had a great hearing for • their harmony contributions, and the 1 dashing swing which they gave to I "Here We Are Again," "I'm Alone' and "Dadda." Another exceptional turn was that of the gipsy violinist, Rene Rich, who gets a fine tone from the instrument, and delighted "her audience with variations of popular melodies like "Yankee Doodle and "Annie Laurie," in which she showed especial talent and skill with harmonics , and pizzicato embroiderings of the main theme. She was loudly applauded. As in previous programmes, the talent of the orchestra and the ballet, and the stage settings are features of the production, which is bright, breezy and joyous from . end to end. ■ , , _, , The season will conclude on Thursday, ' and on Saturday the company will present the Cinderella pantomime, m which Josie I Melville will appear.
