In continuation of the search for the two escaped prisoners, three warders left by motor car in company with Constable McDonnell at 0.30 a.m. yesterday for Karioi, and pursued their search down the upper reaches of the Wangaehu River to Mangamahu, where they intended meeting a posse of Wanganui police. It is understood that inquiries were fruitless and that tho search will be continued again to-day. The two prisoners who escaped from the Waikune prison sub-camp at Whisky Creek, 16 miles south of Turangi, on Friday, with a third prisoner who was recaptured, are Eugene Charles McCarthy, aged 25, and Basil Hodgson, aged 26.
