SLIGHT INCREASE. TO-DAY'S QUOTATION, 69/ TO 70/. IMPROVED TONE IST LONDON. Latest cables from London indicate an improvement in the market tone for Xew Zealand butter, and prices have advanced slightly. It is probable that the suggestion of quota restrictions upon foreign imports has been a factor in the improvement now evident. The weekly official report supplied to the Press Association reads as follows: — Butter is firmer. New Zealand: Finest salted, 60/ to 70/ per cwt; unsalted. 69/ to 70/. Australian: Best salted, 67/ to 6S/; unsalted, 08/ to 70/. Danish: OS/. Cheese is firmer. New Zealand: White, 39/; coloured, 44/. Australian: 37/ to 41/. Merchants' cables received to-day from Tooley Street are as follow: — Norden and Co.. Ltd., from R. and W. Davidson, Ltd., Glasgow.—Butter: Salted, 67/, 69/ (equiv. 7.60 d f.0.b.); unsalted, 66/, 68/ (equiv. 7.47 d f.0.b.). Market firm. Cheese: White, 38/, 39/ (equiv. 3.9 d f.0.b.); coloured, 43/, 44/ (equiv. 4.53 d f.0.b.). Market steady Leslie McCartney, from Henry A. Lane and Co., J-.td., London.—New Zealand butter: 69/. Cheese: White, 38/; coloured, 44/. Both markets firmer. Joseph Nathan and Co., from Trengronse and Nathan, Tooley Street, London. —Butter: 69/. Cheese: White, 39/; coloured, 44/.
