PETROL PRICES DOWN.
Lowest in Australia Since The War. LAW TO FORCE INFORMATION. (Received 0-30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The major oil distributing companies made a further reduction in the price of petrol in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The prices will now be 1/0 for first grade and 1/7 for second grade. These prices are the lowest in Australia since the war. At Canberra two bills were introduced into the House of Representatives by tho Attorney-General, Mr. J. G. Latham, to enable the Royal Commission investigating the petrol industry to obtain any information it considers relevant to its inquiry.
