FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. A FIRM MARKET. BROKERS ARE BUSY. Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange has been quite brisk over the last 24 hours, and a big list of sales has been put through covering a fairly wide of securities. At this morning's call there was keen bidding in a number of sections. In Government stocks there were buyers for 4 per cents, both bonds and stocks, at £99 10/, and for 3% per cents at £98 10/. The latter could be bought at £99 15/. In the banking section Nationals of Australasia were asked for at £12. For New Zealand Insurances holders are now asking £2 10/. Auckland Gas shares were in demand, and a parcel changed hands at £1 2/1, with more wanted at that figure. The breweries section was firm, with buyers for most listed issues at late rates. Robinson Ice Cream shares were again asked for at 17/, and a seller came in at par. Pukemiro Collieries were wanted at 17/, and a holder offered to take 19/9. The mining section was strong, and after a sale of Wajhis at £1 2/7 there were still buyers at that figure, but sellers were up to £1 3/3. Bulolo scrip was asked for at £3 0/6. The Noon Call. The market continued firm at the noon call, and South British sold 4d better, at £3 4/, while three parcels of Auckland Gas were disposed of at £1 2/1.
