Mr. W. Goodfellow left by train yesterday afternoon for the South. Messrs. •H. R. Mackenzie and J. Fletcher left last night by the Limited for the South. Captain and Mrs. Montague Polley, of Auckland, are leaving this evening by the Limited express on a visit to Wellington. Mr. P. H. Freetli, editor of tlie Christchurch "Press," who - has been visiting Auckland, left last night on Ms return to the South. Major C. T. Gillespie, of. the Royal New Zealand Artillery, it> to take over command of the No. 3 Regimental district, Auckland Province. Captain C. A. L. Treadwell and Captain 'G. T. Weston, of the New Zealand Army legal department, have been promoted to the rank of major. Mr. A. O. Heany, secretary of the Associated Chambers of Commerce, is at present visiting chambers of commerca throughout the North Island. Mr. R. W. Browne, of the chemistry staff of the Colonial Sugar Company at Chelsea, has been transferred to Sydney. He left by the Wanganella to-day. Lord and Lady Latymer, of England, who have been spending a few days in Auckland, left by motor car yesterday for the Waitomo Caves and Rotorua. Mr. W. E C. Gregory, manager in New Zealand for the Commonwealth and. Dominion Line, leaves to-morrow on a. business visit to England. Mrs. Gregory will accompany him. Mr. C. Alma Baker, of Malay States, who has been touring New Zealand and deep-sea fishing, left by the Wanganella to-day for Sydney, en route for home. He was accompanied by Mrs. Baker. | Mr. J. Findlav, representative in New Zealand for the Shaw, Savill and Albion Shipping Company, will leave with Mrs. Findlay by the Mataroa to-morrow on a business visit to England. They will return in about six months. Mr. L. J. Sclimitt, New Zealand Government Trade and Tourist Commissioner in Australia, who has been visiting New Zealand on official business, left for Sydney by the Wanganella today, accompanied by Mrs. Schniitt. Dr. D. P. O'Brien, who has been on tho staff of the Auckland Hospital for tha last two years, leaves by the Limited | express this evening en route to England. to continue hv medical studies. Dr. I O'Brien is a son of Sergeant J. O'Brien, I in charge of the Devonport police station.
