TE AROHA HORSES.

SISTER TO MASTER BRIERLY. UNOCO VERY WELL. A two-year-old half-sister to Master Brierly, by King Lu from Lady Brierly, has been purchased by a South Waikato sportsman from her breeder, Mr. R. B. Hines. She is well developed, shows plenty of quality and is built on galloping lines. The Valkyrian mare Val Watch, in A. E. Cox's team, is showing satisfactory improvement since running third at the Tauranga meeting. She is engaged at the Franklin fixture and should run prominently. Unoco has done schooling .work this week in view of competing in the hurdle race at Pukekohe. The Some Boy 11. gelding is very well and showing plenty of dash, and should be suited to the distance to-morrow. Queen Nona Is training on satisfactorily at Paeroa, and ha 3 freshened up nicely of late. The Musketoon-Queen Arch two-year-old gelding is being leased by Mr. R. B. Hines to J. H. King, of Manunui, who has had some success with King Win from the same breeding establishment. When in work here last spring he showed both pace and gameness, and being bred on winning lines should be a payable proposition. Mustang has now commenced to thicken up satisfactorily and this Musketoon gelding will probably be racing with the colours _up at the Te Kuiti meeting next month. Mr. P. A. Swney, of Waihou, has decided to spell Mungatoon, Mungacre and Lagoon for the winter. After competing at the Ohinemuri meeting laet month, Mungatoon was physicked, but fell away considerably in condition and general appearance. He is now developing in the right way, and next season will be raced over middle distances. The Hunting Song gelding Good Run has been benefited by his spell and his joint tenderness has practically disappeared. When he strikes racing form he should win good stakes, as he knows how to gallop and will not be stopped by a bit of weight. Mr. A. E. Lennard's Lucy Rose is now beginning to strike form and should be in nice racing trim for the Auckland winter meeting in June. The Lucullus mare handles heavy going so well that up to a mile and a quarter she should run prominently during the fixture. _ Desert Star's win in the Titirangi Handicap at Avondale was popularly received here by sportsmen generally. If started to-morrow in the Pukekohe Cup he will have local support, although it is not known how he will get a mile and a quarter. Mr. R. B. Hines. who, since leasing Master Brierly and Bang Mestor, has not been racing as an owner, will have rising two and three-year-olds in work next spring. He has very likely juveniles by Musketoon and King Lu. Don't Lap is still racing without any element of luck. A second at Te Rapa and a third at Avondale are his best performances of late. He should soon improve on these efforts, for his racing condition is now becoming more solid.

A GOOD GALLOPER. One of the most impressive hacks seen out for some time is the Royal Divorce— Outlet gelding Takakua, who was a double winner at Feilding at Easter. This four-year-old has been very consistent in the short time that he has been racing, and another success will place him out of hack class. Takakua is owned and trained [by W. Bennett, who lately shifted his I quarters to Woodville.
