AUCKLAND CHESS CLUB.
OPENING SEASON TO-NIGHT. & This is the jubilee year of the Auckland Chess Club, and the winter season will be opened this evening in the unemployment levy room of the Central Post Office, with a lightning tourney to which all chess players and those interested in the game are invited. The club has commenced a "drive" for members, the first step to mark the club's 50 years of existence being to reduce the fee by half, to form a draughts section of the club, and to keep the club open every afternoon and evening.
