The Hauraki Plains County Council piet on Wednesday, Mr. W. Madgwick presiding. The foreman reported that the Pipiroa ferry sprung a leak recently, and a . bilgo pump was borrowed to keep the service going. The punt required putting on a slip an a recaulking. It was finally decided that repairs be left in the hands of the chairman, and Messrs. W. Hale, and C. W. Parfitt, with power to act. The engineer reported that the Miranda Cranage scheme work was almost completed. The average daily earnings since the commencement of the scheme eight months ago was 9/9„. and 101,364 cubic yards had been excavated at a cost of £8589 12/10. The report on the maintenance of the mam highway was considered satisfactory.
