TRICKS FOR ODD MOMENTS.
THE LAST ONE,
(Sent in by Margaret Bowmar,. Ainslle Road, Paeroa ; age 12 years.)
Here is a really clever little trick which is bound to amuse everyone you work it on. Get seventeen nuts, sweete or currants, and put them on a plate. "I will make you take the last 6weet," you say to the other person. "You may take one, two or three at a time. Now you begin." Suppose he takes one sweet, then you must make the number up to four by taking three. If he takes two, then you take two, but if he takes three then you take one. You follow this plan each time, making his number up to four. He will then be obliged to take the last one.
