The new fashion displays of French creations usually disturb the sartorial equanimity of all—they are illuminating and educational. You watch elim young mannequins glide around in dresses that sponsor new necklines, new hemlines, new streamlines, new fabrics, new colours, and best of all, new clothes that make you even more slender than you thought you could be. This year the French designers are going in for dressmaking in the strict sense of the word. The models show the cunning artistry of patient and skilful French needlewomen.
