EASTER RACE FROCKS

Autumn Fashions At Ellerslie.

Simplicity was the keynote of the many smart frocks worn at the Easter carnival held at the Ellerslie racecourse to-day. New shades of browns, jungle and Morocco reds, leaf greens, thunder greys, and every tone that blended with Nature's garden were exhibited with excellent taste. Hats of the no6e dive shape, shallow crowns, plush and velvet turbans, with scarf or stock in soft woollen or plush materials gave a look of warmth and comfort to the wearer.

The gardens were an exquisite setting with their water lily ponds, autumn flowers, and foliage changing its summer garb into a wealth of beauty. Huge pots of hydrangeas, numerous hothouse plants and ferns, banked on the stands and entrances of the tearooms, made the 1033 Easter race meeting as beautiful a sight as its predecessors when the word depression was not known.
