MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED.

Owing to liis motor cycle skidding while lie was riding along Woodward Road by the railway crossing, just before it joins up with New North Road at 8 o'clock this morning, Ivan Nielsen, aged 19, received head injuries and abrasions. Nielsen, who lives at 5, Harbutt Avenue, Mount Albert, was taken by the St. John Ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where he was admitted. His condition is not serious.

Particulars of train arrangements and fares made by the Railway Department in connection with the band contcst at Hamilton and To- Aroha sports are advertised. Mustaplia Kemal Pasha, President of the Turkish Republic, gave a tip of £20 to the Maitre d'Hotel when he dined at a leading Istanbul restaurant.
