YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS. SYDNEY, April 10. Sydney Stock ' Exchange investors operated to-day with , much confidence, the trend of values being upward. Commonwealth bonds were one to six points above last week's levels. The demand for front rank industrials was very strong, and .there was unusual activity in gold mining shares. This morning's sales included^ —Commonwealth 4 per cent bonds, 1947, £102 15/; 1953, £103 7/6; 1959, £104 5/; Broken Hill Proprietary, 30/7%; Tooth's Brewery, 35/9. ' This afternoon's sales . included: —Bank of New South Wales, £30; Commercial Bank of Sydney, £15 17/6; Queensland National Bank, £5 1/6; Associated News, 7/9; pref., 17/7%; Colonial Sugar, £55; Berlei, 25/6; Tooth's Brewery, 35/10%; British Tobacco, 34/9; Carlton Brewery. 35/10%; Australian Glass, 47/9; Dunlop, Perdriau, 17/3; ' Winchcombe, Carson. 23/9; Fairymead Sugar, 26/; North Broken Hill, 65/; Commonwealth 4 per cent bonds, 1938, £103 7/6; 1941, £103 17/6; 1944, £104 2/6; 1947, £102 15/; 1950, £103 2/§; 1953, £103 7/6; 1955, £103 15/; 1057, £104 2/6; 1959, £104 5/; 1961, £102 16/3.
