STOVE EXPLOSION.

TANGO WAHINE SENSATION.

MAN SLIGHTLY INJURED.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.)

DARGAYILLE, Monday.

At Tangowahine, yesterday morning, Mr. S. Gosdin, a Dalmatian, while lighting a fire in a stove, was slightly injured by an explosition which blew the stove to pieces. He was living with Mr. Tony Barbarich and his wife and their small family. Gosdin was at the stove, and Barbarich was with his 18-months-old daughter just alongside.

"That was the first time in nine months that Godsin had lit the fire," said Barbarich this morning. He added that he had just told his little daughter to stand away from the stove when the explosion occurred. It is thought probable that in the splitting of a puriri log gelignite had been left in the timber. Mrs. Barbarich was outside the back door when the explosion occurred. The house was only slightly damaged.
