The Thames Golf Club opened Its season at the Tarawa! links on nftornoon, when there was a large attendance of old and new players, also many visiting players from the Ilanraki Plains and Paeroa Clubs. The putting greens were In good order, but the grass in the fairways was rather long. Mr. E. J. Clendon, president. In his opening remarks said that while many clubs were opening their season with a reduced membership owing to dull times, the Thames Club was fortunate In showing an Increased membership. and he predicted a very successful season. After the links had been declared open for play in the usual manner, mixed foursomes were arranged, and an enjoyable afternoon spent. WAIUKU LADIES' CLUB.
