The membership of the local branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association now stands, at 149. - This was shown by the report presented at the annual meeting, and funds are in hand of £88. The association also has assets conservatively valued at £140. During the past year the association, with the aid of canteen grants, subsidies from the' Taihape Patriotic Society and .-social gatherings, has distributed £227 for the relief of its unemployed members. . . > The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, -Dr. H. M. Hay; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. W. Newport and L. H. ■ Haydon; secretary, Mr. R. S. McDonald; treasurer. Mr. "A. J. Hill; executive, Messrs. R. -A. Fuller, J. Simpson, S. J. McDonnell, L. E. Lyons, G. A. Sherson, W. J. White, J. Niven' and A. H. Denne;' auditor; Mr. J. Graham; delegate .to annual conference, Mr. R. S,-McDonald.
