OVER 100,000 YEARS OLD.
A skull, declared by Sir Arthur-,Keith, the eminent anthropologist, - to : ;be mapy thousands of years old,, is among discoveries at Pollok Brickworks, Glasgow. Mr. D. Adam, Fellow of; the Society of Antiquaries,' says: "There is reason to believe that the skull belongs to 'an inhabitant of Scotland during the Ice Age, and it is:estimated that it is older than the famous Piltdown'skull, which has- been pronounced at*'least ,100,000 years old. There is more !,of ,the skull than there is of the Piltdown skull. In addition, we found a number of piles' or staples of ancient dwellings and• other relics, such as sharp-instruments, which bear signs of having been buried: under ice during the Ice Age.' There^was-also ancient sandstone, which -seemed, to have been t used for - breaking bones, for there were many fragments , of ' bones round about. There is. also-, a black stone on which is; engraved'an image-of a bear." The. famous Piltdownskull ■was discovered-.by- Mr. Ob-arles- Dawson ■a# gpsaay iar jgjgr \
