RACING ON PANMUHE BASIN. FIN.&L EVENTS OF SEASON. The Auckland Outboard Racing Club held their final races of the season at Panmure Basin on Saturday. A fresh nor'-easterly wind was blowing, but in spite of this the sea was fairly smooth and some very good finishes were recorded. There was a good attendance, both ia competitors and spectators. Kesults:— Race One (4 laps).—This race was the final of a race which was postponed from opening day. The two competitors were Silver Slipper and- Hell's Bells, but the latter failed to put in an appearance and Silver Slipper completed the course alone. Her time was 6m 9s. Race Two.—Outboard handicap for Tisdall Cup: This race was for A and B class boats, for the Tisdall Cup and the championship pennants for the fastest times. When the gun went four boats started. They were British Maid, Stingray, Silver Slipper and Pegasus. British Maid dropped out after the first lap. Pegasus and Silver Slipper ran neck-and-neck most of the way, but Silver Slipper drew away at the last mark and beat Pegasus in. The finish was: Stingray 3h 8m 20s, Silver Slipper 3h 8m 255, Pegasus 3h 8m 31s. Result: Stingray 1, Silver Pegasus 3. Stingray won the. championship pennant for the fastest time.

Race Three. —Outboard sweepstake : Seven boats started. This was a good race and the finish was: Stingray 3h 8m 9s, Nymph 3h Sm 41s, Cee Hoppa 3h 8m 303. The result was: Stingray 1, Nymph 2, Cee Hoppa 3. Silver Slipper won the B class pennant. Race Pour.—Outboard Handicap for "Herald" Cup and Champion Pennant, for C. One of the best fields of the day started for this race, there being ten boats competing. British Maid was first away, followed by Stingray, Nymph, Pastime, with Pegasus, British Maid 11., Silver Slipper, Dagu, Cee Hoppa and Pug. Silver Slipper, Lugu, Cee, Hoppa and Pug ran together for the first three laps, and then the field bunched. The. finish was: Nymph, 4h 7m 325; British Maid, 4h 7m 465; British Maid 11., 4b. 7m 535; Lagu, 4h 8m 545; Silver Slipper, 4h 8m 565. Result: Nymph 1, British Maid 2, British Maid 11. 3, Lagu 4. Cee Hoppa won the champion pennant for the C class boats.

Race Five.—Special Challenge Kace.— The special challenge race between Cee Hoppa and Pug was very exciting, both boats running neck-and-neck all the way. At the first mark on the last lap Cee Hoppa accidentally bumped Pug, but both continued the race. It was a very close finish, Cee Hoppa just beating Pug in by 2s. The times were: Cee Hoppa, 4h 3m 295; Pug, 4h 3m 31s. Result: Cee Hoppa 1, Pug 2.

(Race Six.—Outboard Handicap for Duff Cup. and Champion Pennant for D Class.— Twelve boats started. The field was rather spread out at the start, but towards the end they ran bunched together. Some very good times were recorded. The finish was: British Maid, 4h 7m 41s; Nvmph, 4h 7m 455; Pegasus, 4h 8m Os; Cee Hoppa, 4h 8m 10s. Result: British Maid 1, Nymph 2. The B class championship pennant was won by Pug. RICHMOND MIDGET CLASS. The Richmond midgets held a race off Ponsonby wharf on Saturday. The finish was:—Nancy (3m) 3h 33m; Comet (scr), 3h 34m; Blue Bell (sm), 3h 35m; Heather (4m). 3h 37m; Swastika (7m), 3h 38m. Result: —Nancy and Blue Bell tied for first place, Swastika third. ORAKEI MODEL CLUB, The Orakei Basin Model Yacht Club held a series of races for model yachts In the Orakei Basin on Saturday afternoon. The results were:— Commodore Cup.—First heat: Lois M. 1, lorangi 2. Second heat: Loyola 1, Rang! 2.- Final: Loyola 1, lorangi 2, Lois M. 3. Taupirl Cup.—Sea Spray, 5h 35m, 1; Twilight, 5h 36m 10s, 2. The race for the cup will be decided In four heats and a final, all boats starting from Bcratch. The club will hold races on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, and special events will be Included on the programme for visitors.
