WIN AND PLACE.
BETTING AT ELLERSLIE. NEW BUILDINGS ERECTED. The Auckland Racing Club will introduce the system of betting' for a straightout win,' besides- place betting, at the Easter meeting which opens at Ellerslie next Saturday. A new building has .been erected between the lawn apd Leger enclosures containing the indicators for the straight-out betting, one dial showing to the lawn and the other to the Leger. No tickets .will be sold at this building. The dial of the old electric machine will indicate the betting for a •' place, and patrons of the.lawn and Leger will purchase their tickets for both systems of betting-at this machine, the windows of •which will be grouped f^jstraight-out. betting and .place, betting?* On the hill and in the Derby stand (the one beyond the Leger] there will oiriy, be' place 'betting.
