Lieufc.-Colonel C. S. Douglas, of london Is at Hotel Cargen. Mr. C. M. Richwhite, of Auckland, will leave for the South to-morrow night. Dr. T. L. Paget, of Wellington, is at the Station Hotel. He will leave for the South mi Sunday night. Mr. A. Bullians, of Mount Eden, has taken np hid duties as headmaster of Stanley Bay public school. Mr. A. D. Park, Secretary to the Treasury, who has for some time been on sick leave, has resumed his duties.
Mr. W. F. J. Munro, principal of the Pukekohe Technical High School, left on a health trip to Sydney by the Monowai yesterday.
Mv. H. White-Wiekham, of London, who has been deep-sea fishing in the north, left Auckland for the South last night en route for England.
Messrs. A. Grayson, president of the Auckland Automobile Asssciation, G. W. Hutchison, secretary, and M. H. Wynyard, member, will leave for the South to-morrow night. Mr. H. F. Penlington, of Christchurch, who retired last year after many years as headmaster of various primary schools in Canterbury, has been nominated for life membership of the New Zealand Educational Institute in recognition of his services to education in the Dominion.
! Sir Louis Barnett, of Dunedin, Dr. F. G. Bell, professor of surgery at Otago University, Dr. C. F. Monchaux, radiologist of the Dunedin Hospital, and Dr. D. S. Wylie, of Palmerston North, left Wellington by the Makura during the week for Sydney, where they will attend the annual meeting of the Australian and New Zealand College of Surgeons.
