EX-SOLDIERS' MEETINGS.
BIRKENHEAD AND NORTHCOTE
Mr. G. B. Chinnery presided at the annual meeting of the Birkenhead ExServicemen's Association.
The accounts showed a credit balance of £41 9/10. The report stated that the association had reaped an advantage by amalgamating with the Auckland R.SA.
The following officers were elected:— Patron, Dr. J. W. Craven; president, Mr. G. B. Chinnery; vice-presidents, Messrs. -J. C. Yeomans, G. R. Hutchinson, J. Bright, J. Priekett, R. R. Hayman and J. W. Canty; secretary, Mr. AJex. McNeilage; treasurer, Mr. A. White; committee, Messrs. B. Dingley, C. Couch, G. Hingston, G. Batty, W. B. McKinstry, G. Burns, H. M. Hely, J. E. Goulden, A. Kraser, J. Douglas, A. Mansou and T. Barker; auditor, Mr. A. E. Greensladc.
Mr. J. W. Canty was elected a life member and presented with a gift from the members in appreciation of his four years' work as secretary.
A meeting of the Northcote Returned Soldiers' Association was addressed by Captain J. G. C. Wales, of the Auckland E..S.A. The president, Mr. W. E. Carter, occupied the chair. Subsequently a unanimous vote of confidence in the retiring executive of the Auckland R.S.A. was passed. .
