LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

SCHOOLS COMMITTEE. REPORT ON GOOD PROGRESS. At the seventh annual meeting of the Primary Schools Management Committee of the Auckland League, Mr. Frank Thompson presided in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr. W. J. Hammill. The annual report stated that the reduction in the number of teams to nine coincided with a pleasing elevation of the standard of play. The order in the championship was: Ellerslie (29 points) Newton (27), Devonport (19). Avondale, Papatoetoe, Richmond, Uity, Otahuhu, and Northcote. Ellerslie also won the knockout from Newton, with Avondale and City in third and fourth place respectively, and Otahuhu three places up the ladder from their position in the championship. The representative team played an exhibition match at Whangarel, and the display was generally commended. The committee and the players thanked the Northland League and residents for hospitality. MANGERE CLUB. About fifty members and supporter's attended the seventeenth annual meeting of the Mangere United Club, Mr. S. Rlckards presiding. The report referred to the good record of the club last season, when the second grade thirteen was fourth In the championship and won the knockout, playIng off the final as an exhibition game for the benefit of the resuscitated Manukau Club at Onehunga. Prospects were bright for the season ahead. Representatives of the junior management also spoke. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. S. W.
