GREAT CRICKETER PASSES,

The death occurred suddenly, at Exmouth, of Lionel C. H. Palairet, a former Test cricketer, aged 03. Mr. li. C. N. Palairet, joint-manager of the M.C.C. team at present in New Zealand, is a brother.
Lionel Palairet—ReTton, Oxford, Somerset and England—lives in cricket history as one oil the most graceful of batsmen. When he played for Somerset 30 years ago and more he was recognised as the perfect stylist, and his name was commonly used as the embodiment of beautiful batsmanship. He was one of the mainstays of Somerset for some years. In 1902 he played twice for England against the Australians. He was one of the sideincluding Abel, Tyldesley, Maclareii, Jackson, Ranjitsinhji, Braund and Lockwood—that was tieaten at Manchester by three runs.
