WOMAN'S BEQUESTS.
MISS I E. MURRAY'S ESTATE.
£4000 FOR MASSEY COLLEGE
Under the will of the late Miss Janet I Elizabeth Murray, of Auckland, Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston North,! a nd the Auckland Grammar School will j eventually receive substantial benefits. Miss Murray died on February 27 last. The estate has been sworn for probate at The will l caves the estate to two sisters, Misses Cecilia Jane Murray and Florence Seretta Murray. On their death the will directs that the residue of the estate shall be held in trust and £4000 be paid to the Massey Agricultural College, Palmerston North. That sum is to be held in trust and the income used for the promotion and encouragement of agriculture. After the costs of the management of the trust fund have been paid, the remainder of the income is to be applied in establishing and maintaining a. scholarship or scholarships. These are to be called "The Murray Scholarships," in memory of deceased's father, Benjamin Moore Murray, and her mother, Jane Murray. The annual value of the scholarships is to be the whole of the residue of the income from the trust fund. The balance of the residue of the estate is to go to the governors of the ■{uckland Grammar School, to be held in trust. The income is to be applied for the encouragement of secondary education. A scholarship is to be established to be known as "The Donald Norman Murray Scholarship," and the conditions are to be the same as those directed for the administration of the Massey College bequest. There were two small private bequests.
