BLAZING LORRY.
LOADED WITH BENZINE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The top of Paekakariki Hill last evening was the scene of a spectacular fire, when a motor lorry laden with 200 cases of benzine was destroyed. Apparently the fire resulted from a leak in one of the cases. When the fire was discovered it was impossible for the two men on the lorry to do anything but make certain of their own safety. There were loud detonations as tins of benzine exploded. Traffic on the road was held up for some time.
