TRAM SHELTERS.
PROVIDING FOR WINTER. DECISION OF BOARD. "We are under an obligation to put up shelters for some of our passengers before the winter," said Mr. Grey Campbell at this morning's meeting of the Auckland Transport Board, when a report was being considered on a request, by the Mount Albert Borough Council for the erection of a shelter at the junction of New North and Woodward Roads. He expressed the opinion that the board in the past had erected a far too expensive type of shelter. They were built on palatial lines. A modified design should be adopted and tenders called. It was decided to comply with Mount Albert's request provided the council would meet half the.cost. Tenders are to be called for the work when a design has been approval by the board.
