N.S.W. V. AUCKLAND.
TO-NIGHT'S SWIMMMING CARNIVAL With only one point separating the teams, the final New South Wales v. Auckland swimming match at the Tepid Baths to-night should produce aa exciting finish to the series. One of the most exciting events will be the 800 yds relay race between the i'our Australians and an Auckland team, comprising Keg Thomas, Bob Frankham, Noel Crump and Walden Johnson.' In the 220yde senior scratch race Victor Besomo and Owen Griffiths will have to produce their best form in order to defeat the two best New Zealanders, Frankham and Thomas. The 150 yds intermediate scratch race will again bring together the two brilliant 16-year-old champions, Carl Phillips and Noel Crump. These boys nre evenly matched and they are expected 'to fight out a close finish. The supporting programme of handicap events should also provide interesting sport. Of chief interest will be the reswim between, George Court's and Milne and Choyce in the inter-house relay race and the special match race between the South British Insurance .and the Bank of New Zealand. The match committee of the Auckland Water Polo Control Board has drawn Grammar A to play against Ponsonby A at the Australian carnival in file Tepid Baths this evening. The Grammar team will be as follows:—Porter, Gover, Bndson, Finlayson, Knight. Leslie, Steer, Thomas. The referee will be Dr. Harold Pettit.
