A.R.C. JUMPING EVENTS.
SPLENDID NOMINATIONS. If the acceptances for the jumping events at the autumn meeting at Ellerslie are anything in keeping with the nominations there should be some large fields in this department. There are nineteen entered for the Brighton Hurdles, twenty-four in the St. Helier's Hurdles, twenty-five in the Autumn Steeplechase, and sixteen in the Mangere Steeplechase. The Brighton Hurdle field is not a very classy one, but still there is plenty of material for a good race. Among those nominated are Prince of Orange, Cruachan and Emancipation, who have each shown winning form recently. The firstnamed has' accounted for four races, practically on end, while Cruachan has been successful twice in the last six weeks. Emancipation is also an improved hurdler and a good stayer, who should be suited by the distance. Paddon, who was in the first flight of hurdlers last winter, has been off the scene for some months, but he races well fresh, and if produced in proper condition he will have to again be seriously considered. Imperial Prince and Lucess are also possibilities. The Autumn Steeplechase includes Billy Boy, Copey. Callamart, Lucess, Clarernore, Omeo and Royal Visitor, who have all had plenty of experience in this department.
