TIMARU WOOL SALE.
RECENT PRICES MAINTAINED. SPIRITED BIDDING. (By Telegraph. — Press Association.) TIMARU, Thursday. The third and final wool *ale of the season at Timiuu was held to-uight, when a catalogue of 4378 bales was offered before a full bench of buyers. The bulk of the wool offered consisted of backcountry clips, with a smaller number of farmers' lots. Most of the clips carried a fair amount of condition, and were not up to the quality at previous nales. There was spirited bidding for practically all lots, and the sale was considered very satisfactory, prices being firm on recent auctions. The official range cf prices was ae follows:— Merino. —Average, Bl£d to 094 d; inferior, 7d to B%d. Fine Half bred.—Super, 10d to lid; average, 9d to 10d; inferior, 6Vid to 7Vid. Three-quarterbred. —Super, up to B%d; average, OV&d to 7'/id; interior, 3d to 6%d. Crossbred. —Super, up to 6%d; average, 4d to 5V4d; inferior, 3d to 3%d. Hoggets.—Fine, 7%d to B%d; medium, 6%d to 7%d; crossbred, 3%d to sd. BcllicK and Pieces. —Merino: Good to super, s'/&d to OV4d; low to medium, 4%d to ,od. Halfbred: Gcod to super, Bd to OMd; low to medium, 4J6d to HVzd. Crossbred: Good to super, 3%d to 7%d. Crutchings. —Medium to good, 2%d to 3%d; inferior, l%d to 2d. Locke—Merino, 2%d to 4d; halfbred, 2'/6d; to 3%d; crossbred, l%d to 2'/L>d.
