NAVY ESTIMATES.
Exchange of Ships Again Being Considered. N.Z. SINGAPORE PAYMENT. (Received 0.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 9. The Navy Estimates were presented by Sir Bolton Eyres-Monsell, First Lord of the Admiralty. They amount to £53,570,000, which is £3,093,000 above those of last year. New Zealand's contributions to the Singapore Base are £72,000. Sir Eyres-Monsell's memorandum says that all- submarines are now equipped with the Davis apparatus enabling the crews to escape independently of salvage appliances. He hopes shortly to renew the interchange of ships of the Royal and Australian navies, which was suspended for financial reasons.
