EMBARGO ON FRUIT.
NOT LIFTED FOR THE PRESENT
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this di-y.
Although no official statement is available it is understood that the Government will not agree to the Australian suggestion to lift the embargo on fruit and vegetables pending a conference between representatives of the two countries. The New Zealand Government has previously indicated its desire to reach a reciprocal trade arrangement between the two countries and the visit of Senator Green will no doubt be welcomed in official circles.
