HUGE FACTORY FIRE.
BIG LOSS IN MELBOURNE. MELBOURNE; February 19. A spectacular fire destroyed a nail factory owned by Messrs. S. Cooke and Company, in South Melbourne. About 800 gallons of fuel oil were ignited and sent flames high into the air. The valuable modern machinery in the factory was ruined. The firemen had a difficult task in preventing tho spread of the Barnes to an adjoining timber yard. The damage is estimated at about £50,000.
