"AUCKLAND STAR." Over 650 people attended the annual picnic of employees of the "Auckland Star," at Motuihi. Races were held on the beach during the day, the principal events resulting as fellows: —Staff Handicap, 100 yds: S. Lusby 1, H. Collins 2. Relay Cup Race, 400 yds: (Advertising Department (S. Lusby, J. Dixon, F. Rogers, I. McKechnie) 1, Rotary-rublishlDg Departments (J. Lane, K. Selby, H. Cross,e. C. Collins) 2. Ladles' Handicap : Miss Lawson 1, Miss Foote 2. Toys and sweets were distributed to the children on the trip, while ice cream was given out at the island. D. HENRY AND CO. The employees of D. Henry and Co. held their annual picnic at Tui Glen on Saturdav. There was an attendance of about 150 The D. Henry Shield was won by K Ingram, with W. Wetherill second.
