SWISS CONSUL.
NEW APPOINTMENT. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, who acted as Consul for Switzerland in New Zealand for some years past, has resigned his position, and he will be succeeded by Mr. Albert Blau, doctor of political science, at present in charge of the Swiss Consulate in Glasgow. Mr. Allum has had the unique experience of occupying a position in contradiction with the Swiss law which provides that only Swiss citizens may hold positione on their diplomatic and consular staff.
