RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB.
The Auckland City Defence Rifle Club fired a service competition at Penrose on Saturday afternoon under conditions that were almost ideaL The practices comprised five rounds application, six rounds at the moving figure, and five plates in 25s at 200yda, followed by ten rounds rapid in 35s and ten rounds on the snap-shooting disc ui 300 yds. In lie service championship C. J. Robieson Is leading with 395 -points, followed by C. J. M. Clark (present holder of the title) 880, G. G. Kelly 383, H. Slmmonds 380, K. Swift 360, F. Bowes and S. The third round of the fourth trophy series will be fired at 200 yds and 300 yds on Saturday nest at Penrose. AKARANA CLUB. The fourth shoot of the Akaruim Kifle Club's third trophy of the championship series was competed over the ranges of eight and nine hundred yards for trophies presented by Sir E\ Lang and Messrs. F. W. Combes and J. Parry. Shooting throughout was of the club's usual high standard. Silver spoons were won by J. R. Draffln and A. M. Jenkinson. Trophy points -were awarded to the three top men in each section. Details of the shooting are as follows:— Section A (trophy presented by Mr. f. W. Combes). —A. H.
