M.C.C. TOUR OF N.Z.
SELECTION OF TEST TEAM. LAN CROMB AND LANCASHIRE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. In an official statement the New Zealand Cricket Council says the team to play M.C.C. will be selected at the end of February. The cost of the tour will be substantial and is a first charge on the proceeds of the three matches, apart from the minimum amount guaranteed by New Zealand. I. B. Cromb has applied to be released from his agreement not to accept an engagement in England, the terms of which expire in November. As Cromb is returning from Lancashire to New Zealand in October, and will be available to play in the Dominion next season, the application was granted. The dates of the New Zealand matches March 21 to 22—v. Wellington, at Wellington. March 24 to 27—v. New Zealand, at Christchureh. April 1 to 4 —v. New Zealand, at Auckland.
