Bishop "Williams arrived in Auckland from Palinerston North this morning. Mr. Harvey Turner returned from, the South this morning. Mr. M. H. Wynyard, motorists' representative on the Main Highways Board, left for the South last night. Captain H. Hollis, marine superintendent for the Commonwealth and Dominion Line, arrived in Auckland yesteriay. Major-General W. L. H. SinclairBurgess, officer commanding the New Zealand Forces, left for the South last night. / Captain T. S. Weston, formerly of the New Zealand Shipping Company, arrived in Auckland yesterday by the Rotorua sxpress on a holiday visit. Mr. L. G. Usher, ljgadmaster of the Levuka public school, Fiji, left for Suva by the Aorangi to-day, after spending the holidays in Auckland. Mr. W. E. Russell, formerly district commissioner in Fiji, and Mrs. Russell ire spending a holiday in Auckland, and ire at Hotel Stoneliurst. Mr. W. C. E. George, of Huntly, has been appointed a delegate to the International Bowling Board Conference, and will shortly leave for England. Judge H. F. Ayson, resident commissioner of the Cook Islands, arrived in Wellington yesterday by the Makura on i business trip to the Dominion. Colonel N. Charteris and Mr; _J. Blackie, officials in charge of the English public school boys who arrived yesterday in Auckland, are at Hotel Cargen. Mr. R. P. McMullen arrived by the Rotorua to spend nine weeks fishing and deer stalking in the Dominion. He will first go to Russell for big fish, and will later fish for trout at Taupo, and then go to the South Island for the deer. The Rev. H. Bond James, who has been in charge of the London Missionary Society's activities in the Cook Islands for 30 years, arrived in Wellington yesterday and intends to settle with his wife and daughter in the Dominion. Dr. G. Pierce, a retired American surgeon, of New York, arrived in Auckland from Wellington this morning, en route for the Bay of Islands, where he will remain for about six weeks deep-sea fishing. He has visited New Zealand before on the same mission. Mr. G. W. Hutchison, secretary of the Auckland Automobile Association, left for Wellington last night to attend the half-yearly meeting of the North Island Motor Union. He was accompanied by Mr. A. Grayson, president of the association, and both are expected to return to-morrow morning. The Right Rev. C. J. Wright, Archbishop of Sydney and Primate of Australia, arrived in Wellington by the Monowai yesterday afternoon on a holiday visit to the Dominion.' His Grace intends to remain in New Zealand for nearly two months, states a Press Association message from Wellington. •Dr. A. B. Wildman, appointed lecturer in zoology on the staff of Victoria University College, arrived by the Rotorua yesterday. He started his University career at Leeds University, first as a student, and then as a member of the staff. He graduated B.Sc., and later took his doctorate in philosophy at the same University! He secured a research fellowship, and while doing work in that direction he secured the position'in Wellington which became vacant through the death of Dr. F. G. Maskeh.
