At a meeting of the stewards' committee of the Wellington Racing Club held to-day, Dr. McEvedy stated that Mrs. McEvedy would donate, a gold cup for competition at the autumn meeting.' An adjustment will be made to the autumn meeting's programme to arrange for a suitable event to carry the trophy. NEW STIPENDIARY STEWARD. : ARRIVES FROM AUSTRALIA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Mr. C. Gomer, who lias been appointed chief stipendiary steward by the New Zealand Racing Conference, arrived from Sydney to-day. He will take up his dutie3 immediately. NOT THE TRAINER. In the article in these columns on Saturday referring to the over-weight carried by Tironui in the Trial Stakes and Moana Handicap at the Takapuna meeting it was stated that R. S.
