ELLERSLIE TRACK WORK.
A QUIET MORNING. NO FAST TIMES RECORDED. Track and weather conditions were perfect for training work at Ellerslie this morning, but there was little fast galloping executed. The course proper, with the poles about 45ft, and the No. 2 grass and tan tracks were available. Course Proper. Angie started off over a dozen lengths ahead of Hawthorn, Prince Colossus ,and Darma at the five-furlong post, and was just in front at the finish. The last three- ran 'the distance in 1.6 2-5. Angie was ilot timed. Mahkill and Taneriri were sent six furlongs, the first three taking 38 3-ss, and the full distance 1.21 4-5. Mahkill beat her companion, who worked lazily, by several lengths. Demylus finished in front of Tetrarchate after traversing five furlongs in 1.5 4-5, the first two furlongs being covered in 25 l-ss. No. 2 Grass. Horowhenua and the Polazel filly in Geo. Holland's stable were in front of the Lucullue —Country Air filly at the end of three furlongs run in 395. Roman Mascot strode over six furlongs in 1.23. She worked more freely than usual, and could have improved on the time registered. "Wee Pat (Craddock) was schooled over a hurdle twice, shaping well for a beginner. Others to do useful work were: Ruling King, Supreme Ruler, My Money, Dark Prince, Zane Grey, Court Haven, Teremai, Manawhenua, Sunny Sky, Solomon, Valroe and Billy Boy.
